Robin Hood Energy & Debt Collectors

Hi there, a newbie and looking for some advice! There are a few answers around this subject already but there a few conflicting answers.
I have received a text message & answer phone message from Credit Style requesting me to contact them urgently with a reference number.
A bit of digging and I think it relates to an account I had with Robinhood Energy from Jan 2017 - April 2017 before changing to a different energy supplier. They have ceased to exist and Credit Style are their debt collectors.
Thing is I have no recollection of ever being in debt to them. I received a final bill in August 2018 but couldn’t log on to view it. I made my monthly payments & I vacated the house in June 2017 so ignored it. I don’t know if I have received any letters as I left them & seen no need to inform of change of address when I had long left them.
My guess is I must have a small outstanding debt from 4 years ago but I don’t know the best way to act? Should I write a letter asking for proof & showing my change of address or should I phone up and ask what’s going on?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Unless you're deliberately flying under the radar, it would be quite easy for a debt collection agency to trace you and write a proper letter.

Well they can demand what they like, you are free to refute it.
They start with texts as its the cheapest way to contact you, wait till they put something on paper, then respond asking for proof, our "provit" letter (available from the sticky thread) will suffice.
