If you go on credit karma it should show you the month of the default
  • this is more complicated than i thought. Credit karma is showing the default as march 2016.. But i have paid since then, my last payment was made to barclaycard in november 2017. thay then sold it to pra who i havnt paid a penny for since. i presume that if the default was in march 2016 but i carried on paying under special arrangement until nove 2017, then the statute bar clock starts from November 2017?

The default date and when it becomes statutory barred are two different things. The debt should fall off your credit report in April 2022, however the debt still exists. The statutory barred date is based on last payment/written acknowledgment, which from what your saying will be November 2023

    Yes that's right.

The default date defines the 'cause of action' (PRA group v Doyle)

Your payments re-set the clock each time

i understand that, Im just wondering if b'card defaulted it back in 2016, does it mean pra cant then default it again at a later date?

That's right. An account should only be defaulted once.

if PRA tried to re-write history you would complain
