Monday 19th October - What small DFW things will you do today?
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…

lots of debts and court letters
I recently became homeless. I was evicted as my landlord got fed up of my erratic rent payments due to my unstable working life which has been in part caused by my experiencing incapacitating depression 3 years ago. I am still trying to get my life back in order and have struggled to hold down work. I have lots of debts.…

Cap Quest
Hi. I'm having a great deal of difficulty with Cap Quest in relation to entries they've made on my Experian credit file. Although they accept in a letter that there have been no late or missed payments since June 2014 they refuse to correct my Experian file which suggests 12 late or missed payments over the last year, all…

Hi, I have just entered into a DMP with Stepchange for two credit card companies Barclaycard and Tesco, both accepted my payment plan quite quickly and show this on my statements but Barclaycard haven't frozen interest, just reduced it to 3% and Tesco are adding a late payment fee of £12 to my statement. How open are you about your debts?
One of the things I am learning through this process is that people have such a taboo attitude to debt. I keep our debt a secret from our nearest and dearest. If anyone asked if I had any debt I would probably say that I had a bit on a CC and perhaps a loan but nothing major when in fact I am servicing debts of 40K (joint)…

to release equity for CC debt or not?
Hi, This is my first post. My OH wants to release capital from a property we own outright (listed in 'other assets') which would obviously incur its own loan repayment charges. (NB This property currently does not yet generate income as i am just starting a new business from it, so unsure if this is even feasible) The loan…
