RBS left defaulting account until nearly paid off!!
Does this seem harsh to others? I've been dealing with the CCCS for a year and a half now and it's been very smooth. One of my debts was to RBS for £1400 on an overdraft account, they agreed the reduced payments and all was fine but I notice from my credit record that they didn't default the account until it was down to…

Debt Situation After 8 Years
The situation is that I left the U.K. in 2002 and moved to Portugal, one of the reasons I left was that I had a lot of unsecured debt (credit cards and loans) at the time. I am wanting to move back to the U.K. next year and obviously I am worried as to what the situation is with these debts. I have had no contact with any…

Am I missing anything?
If I've done my maths correctly (and I've triple checked the figures!) I'm going to have around £500 spare this month... Thing is, I'm moving 17th July (woo!) so my figures have been based on paying a full months rent on 1st July for my current home (rent for new place and deposit has already been accounted for) Now, my…

Collection agencies legal position
Can anyone clarify what the legal relationship is between credit card companies and the collection agencies they employ? Do the agencies buy the debt, or are they working on commission, or some other arrangement? Is the CC company still involved, even? At the moment, I'm getting letters from both! Thanks.

Tesco gave me a CCJ
First time post as I want to pick a few savvy brains on here. Back in 2006 I had a car accident which was my fault and meant that my insurance company (Tesco) had to pay for the claim of £4000 In short Tesco took too long to pay the claim and I ended up getting a CCJ through no fault of my own. Once I told Tesco that I had…
