Disputing a debt Help please

Hi all

I'll try and stick to the bare bones but my whole situation is very complex but this query is just about a very tiny fraction of it but if i can get it sorted asap then it is one less thing to worry about.
I left my husband for various reasons and the whole thing is very acrimonious but he did say he would help out financially with my motor insurance { I shouldn't have fallen for it, hindsight is wonderful} I obtained a quote {which was very expensive as the car was being imported from Spain} anyway all I obtained was the quote and then gave the details to husband and asked him if he could get me a temp cover note. Anyway he went ahead and set up a policy and paid the deposit. It has since been cancelled {but not by me as I never set it up!} I have received a credit agreement which I have not signed but they are now chasing me for for two hundred and sixteen pounds! To quote from the letter,
" After taking into account any refund of premium from your insurance company and any balance owing on the finance agreement there is a final balance of 216.00 to pay"
Can anyone help {I have been advised to file for BR by the CCCS- which I have been forced into by ex OH - which I will so I know I can take this with me but I would rather sort it now}

Thanks for listening xx

    Have you asked the finance company to send you a copy of the original credit agreement that they allege you signed and agreed to?
  • Hi Fiddlestick

    Thanks for reply, the credit agreement is still sitting in my kitchen, unsigned. They will have no paperwork unless my husband has forged my name {which he has done before - but it is my understanding he set up the policy on the phone - he used his bank details and they accepted them - to get the business I guess} They { neither the broker,the credit company or insurance company have any of my financial details only a copy of my previous insurance renewal details from Spain - which they said wasn't sufficient for no claims purposes anyway}

    Cheers xx
