After being refused credit for car finance last week I have went online and got my free credit report from Equifax and have a couple of questions regarding the report.

1. Orange Mobile Phone - in 2004 I defaulted on payments and these were a few months late - how long will this show on my file as this is obviously effecting my score.

2. I had a Personal Loan with BOS in 2006 and was off work due to illness and a Payment Protection Policy covered this, however the status is showing as Q - for query on the account?

3. I had a court judgement issued in 2006 and cleared the amount over the space of a year this is showing as settled - how badly does this effect my rating.

1. 6years so presumably this will be gone fairly soon
2. Not sure about this, are you now paying this again yourself?
3. Fairly badly, it will make getting any mainstream credit difficult. And it will remain on your file for 6years from the date of judgement - this is likely to be the reason your were refused credit last week.

The BOS loan was settled in 2007
