Does klarna negatively effect your credit rating?
I do use it often. I have growing kids so its mega handy for buying them shoes and clothes and spreading the cost over 3 months. I've used them a few times over the years and they've never done a hard search nor does it actually appear on my file. Im planning to apply for a mortgage next year, do you think it would effect…

Lowell Next Step
I lived in a rented house 2008 until mid 2009 and British Gas was the gas supplier. The boiler was very old with lots of issues and when I came to move out the bill was £1384. I disputed this with the landlord. I moved house and used British Gas for both my gas and electricity from mid 2009 until I moved again in 2017. I…

Failed credit check for Vodafone broadband!
Oh, the shock! Oh, the horror! I found a more or less acceptable broadband offer from Vodafone using MSE's checker. I found the VF website clunkier than most I use, but persevered to the personal details page and, whoops, got the 'failed credit check' message. VF referred me to Experian if I had a query. They were as…

Hard Search for partner's credit
My partner applied for PayPal credit last week and both of our credit records had a hard credit search recorded at the same time. I already have PayPal credit and his account wasn't searched when I applied last year. Is this normal? I thought a hard search was only done if the individual themselves applies for credit and…

Furniture 0% APR
Hello! My partner and I have recently had a mortgage offer for our new home. The mortgage broker has recommended that we do not take out a 0% APR loan with anyone. My partner and I were planning on getting our sofa only on 0% finance, but now worry this will risk our mortgage offer being rescinded. We can 100% afford all…

question about debt to income ratio and how it effects mortgage application
hi, so on a long journey to hopefully getting a mortgage next year. I've managed to nearly pay all my CC debt. Is this a hindrance to my…

PDLs dropped off before 5 years on Equifax credit report?
Hi, I’ve noticed that 2 PDL’s that I’d stupidly taken out in 2015 (1 in July, 1 in Oct) have been removed from my Equifax/ClearScore report even though it’s been less than 5 years since they were opened or closed. Does anyone know why this is? Should I expect them to drop off my Experian and TU reports?

Hello, I have recently been contacted by Lowell Financial Ltd claiming that I owe them £61 from a debt that they say I owed BT back in 2014.
