Beneficiary Trace

Hi. I'm new to this so forgive me if I'm asking this in the wrong place or if my question has already asked and answered before. I wondered if anyone could tell me what the Beneficiary Trace is on my credit score report please? Two were made on the same day. Is this anything to worry about?

Are these listed as soft searches? I suspect they are, in which case they won’t have any impact on your ability to get credit, as soft searches aren’t seen by lenders.

In terms of why it has happened, it seems a company is trying to track you down for one reason or another, could be something like an old savings account with a bank and they don’t have your up to date info, or a pension you had in the past. What is the name of the company who did the searches and how long ago are they from?

If they are recent you might find a letter through the door soon with all the info on what they want.
