Should I take virgin media to court? Default.

Hi all,
Any advice would be appreciated.
In 2017 I moved home and asked virgin if I could take my broadband with me and would it cost me anything? I was told no. On second call I was told the price would increase to 50pcm. I told them I was not happy about it and didn't want that price and would check other providers. Unbeknownst to me I was enrolled into a new contract without seeing it and they wanted to charge £256 cancellation fee. I complained, went through Cisas , a non independent adjudicator, unfortunately lost but rejected the decision. They sided with virgins inaccurate transcripts. I cannot appeal . I want a court to decide but virgin have not issued proceedings.
Should I take virgin to court to force their hand?
The 'default' is affecting my credit rating , even though 3 years old, a default appears every month on experian as it looks like a new entry. I want a mortgage in a year or so and this is the only thing on there affecting me. I have been told that having it satisfied makes no difference really. Adding a note just draws a lenders attention. If a judge rules against me at least I can pay it in 30 days, avoid the ccj and get on with my life. If i pay off in small amounts, am i admitting guilt? Would I go through the credit department at virgin? They are notoriously difficult to get hold of. I am also worried 2 years down the line they could just pursue this and I am not aware and end up with a ccj.
I have made a subject access request to sift through. In hindsight I should have just paid it and then tried to claim back but hindsight is a wonderful thing.
What should I do?
Thanks so much for advice and any kind words......I really have learnt my lesson in recording my own conversations with these people and demanding in writing follow up.

The monthly default is just a status update. It's not a new default.
Satisfying the default will be a major step forward if you want a mortgage.
If you believe you have overwhelming evidence, then you can take your chances in court. But make sure you're certain of your position.1 -
But don’t expect justice to be swift.
Due to Covid-19 courts currently have a back log that could take 10 years to clear, anything that requires a judgment from an actual person, could be a long time coming.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. You could also take the case about the default to the Information Commissioner?0
