Building credit store & when to apply for credit
Hey guys I've got some defaults on my credit file from 2011, which will drop off in about a year. I thought having these would mean no credit at all, but a couple of months ago I got a Barclaycard 'Initial Visa' (one for bad credit) with a small limit. I've spent small amounts on it & paid them off in full the last couple…

Trying to rebuild credit, EE debt holding me back!
long story cut short I was silly enough to take an iPad out in my name for an ex, didn't pay it when he did one as I was young and credit score didn't mean nothing to me - however NOW it does. I have a credit score of 164/700 and although I have 3 credit cards (vanquis, luma,Aqua) and 2 phone contracts (o2) I find it…

Asking credit card company to withhold payment - impact?
Hi everyone, I recently bought a flat in London which I am currently refurbishing, and given all the expense involved (including spending £1000 on a bed) I decided I really needed to cut back on the sofa, and so ordered a £500 three piece suite from sofasworld (aka Worldstores). Long story short, they delivered on time as…

Defaults etc kept on file for up to 12 years
Not sure if anyone else has seen this yet. I wasn't aware that Credit Reference Agencies could keep data on file for that long! http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cardsloans/article-3698235/Credit-agencies-keeping-black-marks-borrowers-files-12-years-meaning-millions-turned-loans.html

Avoiding paying interest on credit card
This is probably a stupid question, but if anyone can help me out, that would be great. I have just taken out a credit card to improve my credit score, and Martin advises to repay in full every month to avoid paying interest. Does this mean that I need to repay BEFORE the statement arrives? Thanks in advance.

I started a DMP 6 years ago which I have just completed with a lump sum full payment. I'm now trying to repair my credit score to get a mortgage (eventually) and wanted to check if this is a significant issue. My largest debt appears to have been marked as settled back in 2012 but has a very large balance associated with…

Can anyone help? I’m trying to get a mortgage, however the money lenders are unable to find a credit footprint for me. CCJ conundrum advice and perspective needed urgently
HI All I'm trying to rent a property. I have been very attentive to my credit rating of late since I found out i have to leave my current home. In 2009 I was apparently awarded a CCJ via Lewis group and my County court business center for personal debts. Having signed on to Experian this year I have found no mention of it.…

Experian and Middle Names
Dear all I have paid £2 to view my Experian credit report and I am quite horrified by how wrong it is. There are 5 different versions of my address, each one slightly different and one with a random road name in it that has nothing to do with my address. Also none of my recent credit is showing. I have a 10 year mortgage,…
