Bank account missing from Credit report

Hello everyone,

I hope someone here knows how to resolve this issue.

I have a current account which has been open since 1999 however it doesn't appear to show on my clearscore credit report, although other accounts (loans, credit cards and current accounts which were opened after the original current account), I have had/have with the same bank do appear. I have raised a dispute with clearscore which has been passed on to Equifax and I have provided them with the details of the account and yet they are unable to find it. I have been told to contact my bank as there could have been a consent clause is which is common among new agreements but may not have been included in the terms and conditions used by some companies historically..

Has anyone experienced this before and how did you resolve this?

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

They may not report that account to the CRAs - and are under no obligation to do.

    I wouldn't waste time pursuing it - it's only a current account.

Yup. Where Experian is searched but Equifax is reported to. So viewing Experian only shows the search and viewing Equifax only shows the account. You really need to view more than one CRA to get the fuller picture.

i agree with anthorn you would be better checking your credit file with say checkmyfile.com and paying for a triple agency report that shows equifax, experian and call credit.

i have accounts that show with call credit but dont with equifax as an example.

Don't use CMF waste of time, use Noddle (Callcredit) and Clearscore (Equifax) which are free for life then get your £2 Experian report separately. If you opened in 1999 you may not have consented to share with credit reference agencies back then.
  • Contact the bank in question and request that they start reporting the account to credit reference agencies?
