Ccj

Just hoping someone could shed some light, I had a CCJ against me in which I have finally paid of, I spoke to the company and was told its satisfied on checking my Credit Report it has the CCJ marked as discharged, is this correct, or should it be something else, if it is discharged what does this mean. I am aware that the CCJ is on file for 6 years but the discharge part is a bit confusing as I thought this was for bankruptcy ??

    Hi

You need to contact the court and provide evidence that the CCJ debt has been fully paid off. They will then mark the Register of Judgements, Orders and Fines, and your credit reference file as ‘satisfied’.

I’m not sure what the discharged status means for a CCJ.

Do you need to do this James? I am told it will be marked as satisfied now I've paid mine off and the only reason to contact the court would be if I needed the certificate to prove it was satisfied in the next few weeks before the creditor (lowell solicitors) and credit agencies had updated my file.

    Is this incorrect?

For the OP, should definitely say satisfied not discharged

If the creditor contacts the court to tell them the judgement has been satisfied there wouldn’t be any need to contact the court yourself.
