Order of application of payments
Is the following true of all UK credit cards (it clearly is of some according to their T&Cs, others' T&Cs seem a little vaguer)? - a payment to the card is applied to statement balance(s) before being applied to transactions that haven't yet appeared on a statement, even if the statement balance(s) are at a lower interest…

IHG credit card delayed/not arriving?
Has anyone else ordered an IHG rewards credit card and it is taking ages to arrive? (6 weeks +) After calling IHG (Creation) multiple times they keep saying there is a backlog of applications but almost two months seems slightly excessive to me

Sec. 75 with eBay
Does anyone have any experience with Section 75 claims with ebay purchases made by credit card and not paypal. The transaction on my statement still says paypal as I belive eBay use paypal to process the transaction when not using a paypal account and it subjects you to these terms:…

Virgin - offer of promotional rate, but have existing balance
Hi, I've been offered a balance transfer by Virgin (0% until April 2020), but already have a balance on this card with a different promotional rate, which runs until 2021. If I were to take advantage of this offer, how would this affect my existing balance... I assume at the end of 04/2020 I would start paying interest on…

I'm an idiot - lost money
Company has gone bust (I'm assuming, no website, mails, phones) and goods not delivered. I know what I should have done - paid the deposit on the credit card and got section 75 protection but this time I didn't. I thought I'd be able to get a charge back through my debit card - but no. As I paid the invoice online (using…

Balance Transfer to already existing 0% credit card.
Hello, Apologies if this is wrong place. I have tried to google and search via the forums for my answer but am not 100% confident that i have the answer. I had racked up quite a bit of debt on a natwest cc and managed to transfer the debt to a barclay card 0% interest for 24 months. This card has a £12,000 credit limit. i…

Barclay Card Credit Limit Increase
Hi guys I have received a new Barclaycard with a limit of only £800, I shifted as much debt from another card onto this one (0% 18 months). I was wondering what are the chances of being successful applying for credit limit increase within first 60 days. I say 60 days because I think that was the amount of time I have to do…

0% spending card and balance transfer
Morning, We are moving into our first home soon and as such are buying all of the necessary items required on a 0% interest card, and making the minimum payments. I do have the cash available to pay off the full balance however feel it would be more financially beneficial to stooze the cash in a savings account whilst…

Close old Card?
So I have 2 credit cards. I generally use cards for 0% on purchases offers, and then switch cards and close them as the offer ends. I always pay over the minimum required balance on the card, and clear it before the end of the 0% offer. I have NEVER had any late payments etc on any cards. I am mortgage free and have no…

Which card for travel to Colombia?
I've contacted Halifax about the charges that I would have with my Debit Card. They are £1.50 for a Foreign Currency Cash Fee and 2.99% for Foreign Currency Transaction Fee. This is without any further charges that I may be charged by ATM in Colombia! I have looked at the Post Office Mastercard and Halifax Clarity but have…

First credit card with no UK address-history
Hi, I've moved to the UK a month and a half ago from Germany. I read as many CC tutorials I could find, so I registered for voting and tried to apply for a credit card builder but what was my surprise where all the CC requires a 3-year address history in the UK, even in the Aqua start! I have a permanent position and a…

Weird Clarity experience in ticket machine
Not really looking for answers, but thought I'd "post for the record". Last week I was travelling on the Taiwan High Speed Rail. This, I have done many times before and usually paid with Halifax Clarity. I buy at the same machine. These machines do not take contactless - you put the card in the slot, the amount is shown…

Tesco Credit card 0% purchases offer expiry date
Is there a quick and easy way to tell when the Tesco Bank Credit card 0% purchases offer ends on my card. I remember being offered the 12 month 0% purchases offer when I applied for the card in July 2018. So, putting 2 and 2 together, the offer will end in July 2019. But have no idea when exactly. Looked through all my…

Virgin Money credit cards hidden on website
Have just noticed that, with the exception of the Virgin Atlantic cards which are still visible, the Virgin Money credit cards are now hidden behind the eligibility checker so that you have to complete the eligibility checker before you can see what cards are available. Not good.
