Balance Transfer to already existing 0% credit card.

Hello,

Apologies if this is wrong place. I have tried to google and search via the forums for my answer but am not 100% confident that i have the answer.

I had racked up quite a bit of debt on a natwest cc and managed to transfer the debt to a barclay card 0% interest for 24 months. This card has a £12,000 credit limit. i probably have around 18-20 months left on this card until i start paying interest.

I have been very careless and racked up another bit of debt on the original credit card which i am paying interest on.

My question is this. Am i able to transfer the debt from the 1st credit card (natwest) to the 2nd one without affecting the 0% apr? Or would that not be allowed?

I spoke to a Barclay card rep on twitter but they confused me because my finance knowledge is very lacking and was embarrassed to ask any further as i was still not getting what she was saying.

Apologies if there is not enough info above and also for being dumb.

I could not find any post answering this but if someone does know of one if you could link me to it that would be a massive help.

You can, if the BT promo window is still open.

The existing balance will stay on its existing terms, and any new BT will be on whatever terms it is processed under.

I would hazard a guess that the initial 24 month Barclaycard 0% period had a limit on when you could do transfers, for example they must be done within 30/60/90 days of opening the account.

Why don't you log onto your Barclaycard and go to the offers section to see if you have any additional offers.

Make sure you have proper plans for actually clearing the debt once transferred (if permitted) and try not to rack up any more debt.
