Understanding credit cards
Hi all ! This might sound like a very stupid question... But I've never properly understood the point of credit cards :-? Well, I think I understand the point, but I don't understand why you'd want to use them. As I'm clearly missing something, I thought I'd ask here :) Basically, I've only ever used "debit cards" ; it's…

Paid off credit cards - keeping one?
Hi I have just paid off my credit cards, and I am aware that no credit is almost as bad as bad credit. Would I be best to keep the one that has free purchases until the end of next year and use it to pay for my shopping and then pay off the full balance each month or just close it down completely?

I'm seeking some advice. I recently received a 0% balance transfer offer from Barclaycard. After two fraud checks, they hadn't done the transfer so I called them up again to ask where the money was. Raising a dispute for a purchase (hotel room)
I was supposed to have a business trip in France this week, but it was cancelled a few days ago. As usual, I'd booked the hotel myself intending to claim back the costs later. This isn't the first time I'd had to cancel this hotel, so I was surprised to be told on this occasion that no refund would be given. Like most…

Reducing Unused Limits
Hi all, I am in the process of reducing some of my excessive cc limits that I simply do not need anymore. I was under the impression that generally lenders will not lend any more than 50% income so as I was approaching that point, if I reduced my available credit I would become less of a risk for 6 months to a years time…

When should I apply for cards that are not sub-prime?

I am registered to vote, rented a home for the past 3 years, and had a Virgin Media bill which I always paid on time and in full. This year I got some sub-prime cards to build my credit…
