Failed Visa Transaction

Last week I attempted to book a holiday online with Thomson. I paid by visa debit card. However, the visa verification looked like it went through but then the Thomson website said an error had occurred. My cleared funds on my bank account adjusted to take into account my payment to Thomson. I rang Thomson who said that they did not have the booking and we done it all again on the telephone including the payment. They told me not to worry that visa will refund any unclaimed transactions within 24 hours and my 'available bank balance' will show this.
But today, 4 working days later, this has not happened. When will visa adjust this 'unclaimed' transaction?
Can anyone help, thanks.

Things like this normally take 4-5 working days to 'drop off' so I would imagine the funds would be showing in your account in the next day or so.0

Hiya I've had this happen when paying something else before. I can't remember exactly how long it took but it was def more than one working day, more like 5, I'd say if it isn't back in your account by tomorrow contact your bank.0

Of course if you bank with natwestit could take a bit longer still0

Your bank can manually remove the authorisation hold, but most won't be likely to and you'll certainly be in for a fight.0

The bank can remove it - but by the time you've gone through the process it'll have dropped off already so no point wasting your time and theirs. If the money is claimed then you can go down the chargeback route if Thomson won't refund.0
