New credit card - to register or not?
Hi all - a quick query which may sound a bit dumb - sorry! Went into Debenhams last week and bought some stuff in the sale. To get an extra 10% off, I signed up for their credit card. I don't use them as a rule and before anyone asks, I intend to pay it off immediately (well, when the bill comes anyway). I've had the card…

o2 mobile rip-off
It looks like o2 are creaming off credit balances. If an account is closed and a balance is overpaid. o2 advise you by text that you need do nothing; they will take care of it and refund. Of course they don't do anything, just let the cash sit there and hope you will forget about. When you contact them they suggest it is…

0% deal revoked, missed payment, not my fault!
Argh. I set up a Direct Debit to pay £20.00 per month against my card (more than min payment) and it turns out the DD didn't go through this month! It didn't fail, it just merely didn't take effect! I got slapped with a charge so I phoned up. They said they'd revoke the charge and that the 0% deal would be unaffected. Just…

Credit Card transfer - self-employed - what's my income?
Hi, I tried to get a 0% on bal trans credit card from Nationwide, but I'm self-employed, and when you tick the Self-Employed box, it still wants you to put income. I confess that my business is doing quite badly at the moment, and I'm trying to get rid of the CC debt, so that i'm back on an even keel. Problem is, this…

MBNA Amex and Visa
Hi all, I currently have the MBNA Amex cashback card, and I'd like to supplement this with their Visa cashback card too so I can use that in places where Amex isn't accepted. What is the likelihood of them giving me a second card? Was thinking of calling them and offering to split my current Amex limit (£3,500) over the…

Barclaycard Freedom
Has anyone actually earned anything great from the Barclaycard Freedom reward scheme. I was looking up some info on it and managed to do searches to see the retailers in my town and nearest city of Belfast. What can I say this appears to be the most lame reward scheme I have ever heard off. The list of retailers incliude,…
