Hi all
Just paid off my Barclaycard Platinum, i rang to close the account today and when asked why i said as you were offering new customers lengthy balance transfers and the guy said that is fine it now closed, do you want me to put you through to apllications? I said why? So you can apply for a new card with the 18 month BT offer. I asked if that was possible, to apply on same day as closed the account and he said yes!
Is this correct? I suspect not but you never know! I was a good customer, never missed a payment so they may want me back!
Thanks in advance

It's up to the lender. Some companies don't allow you to apply again for 6 months.0

Your are right, as i suspected you cannot immediately reapply!
It is 6 months, so i have reopened it so i can see if i get a BT offer from them in the next month or so!0 -
Barclaycard are one of them; you can't open an account within six months of closing one.
Unless you closed a Mastercard and you apply for a Visa (and vice versa) I think; I remember their credit control team writing to me about that when I applied for a VISA as an existing VISA card holder they sent me a letter to say no, but we'll happily consider you for one of these (was a Mastercard - Breathe).
EDIT: Oh, you figured it outCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
