Min repayment v standing order
Is there a calculator to work out the repayment time on a credit card that has a fixed monthly rate as opposed to a min payment. I have a credit card with HSBC with a balance of £4000, my min payment is £98.06, and using the calculator on this site it would take 44 years  So I have set up a standing order for £100 per…

Poor Credit Score + Student + Large Balance On Credit Card = :o(
Hi, I've been with Morgan Stanley (now Goldfish) for a long time now, probably 3-4 years. The reason I got their credit card was because it gave cash back, 0% for 6 months and it was a platinum card so I felt elite! Anyway, long story short I left work to go to uni a 2 years ago, and my credit card bill was…

Cash advance and interest question
Hello, I have a question about cash advance and interest. We took out a HSBC credit card with 0% interest for 12 months. We used it for our holiday in the USA and did use it for some cash advances as we knew we would be paying off MORE than the cash the very next month. We have done this with previous 0% interest credit…

How do i get a Credit card question
Okay, strangely enough i've never ever applied for a credit card before, so don;t really have a clue what to do or how long it takes. My current credit card is from my bank (HSBC), so that's the only one i have ever used, though as the interest is something ridiculous (above 20%) i thought it's about time i got anothe…

Shell Mastercard from Citi
I'm fuming....I got a Shell Mastercard from Citi on the back of the promo of using the cashback to pay for my fuel, only to find out that my local "Shell" garage is a franchise and is therefore not included in the promo (so says Citi when I rang them to ask why my rebate is not being offset against my fuel purchases).…

MBNA Credit Card interest
Happy New Year to you all. In November 2006 I applied for and was approved for ab MBNA Platinum Plus Credit Card. I've decided to give myself an extensive money makeover so I've been wondering about whether I should transfer my balance to another card before interest kicks in. The thing is, and this may sound really daft,…

advice please - paying a bill by credit card?
I'm due to pay a £17,500 bill by the end of Jan. I've set up a remortgage for £20k. I would like to know whether I'd be better keeping my £20k in my online saving account (AER 4.40%) and paying the bill with a cheque from my credit card (cash advance and cheque handling fee 2.99%) and then immediately paying this off by…
