Credit Card Protection

For many years now I have insured my credit cards/store cards/passport etc
with a Barclaycard protection policy (via Sentinal) and over the years the
annual preminum has gradually crept up from about £14 to £20 for my most recent policy which is due to expire on the 13/01/2008.
I recently received a renewal notice announcing that they would now be
providing 'greater cover than before with some fantastic new additions'.....
under the title SENTINEL GOLD which is fine except for the fact that the premium has shot up to a whopping £29. p.a. an increase of almost 50%.
I'm not at all happy about this - does anyone else share my feelings and is there another insurer to which I can take my custom since they don't seem to be offering a standard policy which is quite adequate for my needs?

Re my CREDIT CARD PROTECTION message I refer of course to what Martin
describes as CARDGUARD schemes.P 97.0 -
is there another insurer to which I can take my custom since they don't seem to be offering a standard policy which is quite adequate for my needs?
Why don't you.
1) Write down the details seperately and keep it in a safe place.
2) Keep the minimum number of cards you need in your wallet/purse (I keep others I'm not currently using in a safe at home).
3) Check regularly.
A bit of common sense is totally free.0 -
3-Yearly fees are lower - Barclaycard Protection currently £80 & Egg's Insurance at £70/3 years - perhaps it's time Martin had a look at the whole market for us?0
