has any one else received a letter from lloyds, i had one today which seems to imply that they will be closing my current credit card (classic visa) and will be offering a replacement.
they state " as part of our ongoing commitment to giving you excellent products, weve currently reveiwed our credit card range. the outcome of the reveiw is that we have some new arrangements in place and will no longer be issuing Visa credit cards...I'll write to you again shortly to explain the options you have for a replacement...If we've not heard from you by the time it comes for the change over, we'll swap your Visa for the product we feel is best for you..."
has any one else received this yet? i assume it means they are changing over to mastercard or AmEx?? and i wonder if my credit terms will be the same (ie credit limits etc)

I got a Lloyds credit card in Sept, and it was a Mastercard."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

I got the same (or similar) letter a few months ago, but enclosed with mine was a Platinum MasterCard. Although there's nothing platinum about it, just the colour!
I'm a student and hardly ever use the LTSB card and it is always paid off in full etc, not exactly a prime candidate for a 'platinum' card. I think they must be trying to make me feel special for having it, to get me to use it more.0 -
hello
i work for lloyds and have been involved with the migration from the visa product ..
yes, you will be offered the Amex or MasterCard Card as replacement. The Credit Limit & APR will remain the same as your current terms.
You will still be able 2 use your visa card until u activate the new card product that is sent to you. - be wary tho as the visa card may not remain available to u until its expiry date.Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts - 1420 Days To Go!LBM: £103,592.98 / Currently £78,500.08 - Down 24.22% / Mortgage: £92,800.00 / Loan: £17,284.21 / Overdraft: £450.09 / C/Card 0%(October 08): £5,601.54 / C/Card 0% (January 09): £1075.22 / Child Care: £137.80

thanks for the relplies, i appreciate it, i am hoping they may offer an AmEx card, as i have already got mastercards and i know that some UK issued Am Ex card schemes dont charge for use in the USA (i have family out there) so if this is the same then i will have another card i can use without charges there (as well as my nationwide credit card) when i go to visitMFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0
