i recentley opened debenhams credit card due to a discount available on purchases. well i used it a couple of weeks back for a pair of jeans. when the statwement came, i stupidly mislaid it n just before christmas, i didnt want to go over the payment date (learnt that lesson from previous credit card last xmas holidays when i couldnt pay due to the holiday period n was charged £10 on a £6 late payment!)
Anyway i rang up n chose to pay with it with my debit card over the phone. when i looked at my account balance, theyd charged me 34.60 when they should have taken £17.17. so furious and been trying to ring them since i found out on 31st but theyd closed early due to new year n i were closed again yesterday. this is me ringing on 0870 number - the alternative one i found on saynoto0870 didnt work. they take forever to put u thru n then i was told it was because my account was charged with somebody elses order! and that when they realized this, they will take off my next purchase balance which i made on boxing day and then i would be in credit of about £5! i am soo annoyed, wouldnt it have been easier to ring up or email and say id been charged and they would sort it out or something.

not to mention the amount ive spent trying to get thru to them on an 0870 number and getting thru on 3rd attempt! and they have the cheek to say to call back in a few days when everything has been sorted!

any1 else had any experience like this? i just worried, if it was a bigger amount or if someone had less money in their acount and it sent them into overdaraft. although i learnt my lesson and will try and look after my statements next time - in places that are easy to find!
