Credit card APR increase
Hi I have 2 credit cards one at 14% and the other has increased the APR to 29.9%!!! I really want to get my debt sorted out and wanted to know if getting a loan to pay the credit cards off would be a better option long term? Thanks Winnie

Capital One Free Travel Insurance
Has anyone got any benefit from this-it sounds good but then if you have to pay the bulk of the holiday with a CC you get charged 11/2 % extra. is this correct. PS sorry if this has already been covered, ive tried to look back into old posts, but no joy.

A little persistence pays off...(interest rates)
Hey, first time poster, long time reader. In an effort to reduce the amount I'm paying on the one card I have debt with, I phoned Barclaycard to reduce my interest rates. I got through to their call centre, just to be told that they never reduce rates. (Which, as MSE has taught us, is not the case) Annoyed, I wrote a quick…

Merchants passing CC fees back to the purchaser????
Has anybody else experienced a merchant charging the vendor (me) an additional 3% for fees that the CC companies charge merchants for processing their money? I've just booked a holiday and was charged 3% extra if I wanted to pay by card, this was the travel agent has no fees to pay the cc company. I thought those charges…

Halifax and Sainsbury's - the same difference?
I recently applied for a Halifax credit card - 0% on purchases for 12 months and received a credit limit of £3,200. As I need a credit limit of £4,500, I gave Halifax a call asking if they could increase the limit but they said "no can do" for at least 6 months. So, I decided to get the rest from Sainsbury's online as they…

Can I raise £20K at 0% with a credit card?
I need to raise £20K for an extension. Somebody has suggested to me that credit cards could be the best way to do this as I could tart at 0% moving from card to card. I have been to see a mortgage adviser today and I'd end up paying £17K interest over 22 years!!!!! As far as I'm aware, I have a perfectly good credit…

Charged late fees for paying early.
I stupidly didn’t look at the T&C on my Goldfish card. I bought something for a couple of thousand in February, and instantly made a payment for £200 to cover the first payment. I then setup a standing order to come out on the 10th of each month to pay a further £200 off the balance. Yesterday I received a statement…

Vanquis.co.uk - Is there a problem ??
My son has been trying for some days to access the Vanquis site to apply for a card, where he wants to try improve his credit history. But he cannot access Vanquis.co.uk, as the site cannot be found. This applies whether he has his firewall on or off. Is there a problem with this site or is the address incorrect. thxs

Experian credit report
After being rejected by Capital One for their cashback card I went ahead and ordered a report from Experian. They say that I do not appear on the electoral role, which is rubbish as I always get my voting card. The only thing I can think of is that my address on the electoral role gives house name and street name but no…

Do outstanding credit card bills have to be paid upon death?
My husband is an executor to his late friend's will. His friend was obviously struggling financially just before he passed away unexpectedly, because he had been using his credit cards to fund his daily living. As he had no dependents (wife or children), he didn't have an Insurance policy to cover his mortgage and so the…

Goldfish/Liverpool Victoria
Well it seems that Goldfish, having taken over the Liverpool Victoria credit card operation, are hell-bent on removing all the benefits it had. Specifically - all overseas transactions to be charged at 3%, increases in some other charges and abolition of the rewards programme. They are introducing Goldfish points - but…
