in Credit cards
Hi
Recently i have recieved a credit card statement with a £29 card protection cost (which is unwanted and unrequested).
After calling the card protection line i was informed that i can cancel the card protection but will get no refund. Is this correct!? As it seems ludicrous.
Thanks
Paul

They dont just sign you up
Youve obviously agreed to it vocally or by ticking a box hence any refund will be discretionary
The cover is normally a third party company/part of the business so get their details and call them direct, you may get lucky and they refund it0 -
Not true. They often do and take the risk that you haven't taped the phone call so you have no evidence. It's a big con really but they nearly always get away with it.knowledgeman wrote: »They dont just sign you up0 -
You may have signed up for the first year which is free then the 2nd year is £29, i tried to get a refund myself and was told the same as you OP, id keep it for the first year since you have paid for it and remember to cancel it next year, when you do cancel just be firm and insist that you dont want the protection anymore, you will be told what it covers as an incentive to get you to not cancelNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20
