Natwest 3% cashback on all purchases for 3 months

I received a letter from Natwest yesterday with an offer to receive cashback on all purchases on my Natwest Credit Card between 1 August to 31 October by calling the freephone number or returning the registration slip.

Has anyone received this offer and are there any drawbacks?

Wow that sounds good. I have a Natwest account but no credit card and my GEM card is stopping, just as I was getting used to the cahback so am looking for an alternative.

I look forward to reading the replies to gorgirl.

Just a word of warning - Mint (same issuer as NatWest) were advertised as giving 4% cashback last year see here but when I called that number is was a recorded message asking for security details. When I contacted Mint about it they said that they had never heard of it.

I suggest you call Natwest first and see if they can confirm the number given is actually one of theirs - and if it isn't report it as a possible scam.

I received a letter from NatWest Credit Card yesterday 22nd August offering 0% for 3 months from 1 August to October - dated July! When I called to register (on their normal telephone number) I was informed that they could not backdate the offer, that it would take 3 days to register my uptake and it wasn't their fault that the offer arrived late as they give the mail to Royal Mail to distribute and any delay is their fault not NatWest's! So the offer is actually for 2 months and 1 week. Typical eh? I could have used this 3 weeks ago, but may not need it now. Way to alienate an already offside customer NatWest.

So you actually spoke to a customer representative - which suggests its a real offer

    It can't be just me?
  • Yes its a genuine offer I have been using this since July. the 3% is detucted from your monthly bill on each statement which is even better than most other cash backs

I have a NatWest gold credit card but haven't received any such letter. Do you think this is an offer that any holder of a NatWest credit card could take advantage of if they phone the number, and if so, would you care to post the number?
  • I don't remember having to ring them up, just getting a letter to say I would get the cashback. If you haven't had the letter you are unlikely to be in the marketing deomgraphic they are trying to target and are unlikely to get the deal
