Texaco 3.9% life of balance to stay
Many of you have been receiving letters (see here) from Texaco announcing the card is being closed and customers will be moved to a Lloyds Platinum card. I've just put the phone down after speaking to Lloyds about this, and it came back to say "all current balance transfer deals will continue to be honoured". In other…

Card Protection Insurance
Barclaycard/Sentinel card protection renewal this year is £20. OK if there are 4 or 5 of you at one address but not value for money for one person. Told them I did not want to renew and they offered to reduce price to £16.

interest free season ticket
A GOOD WAY TO BUY YOUR SEASON TICKET (FOOTBALL) IS TO USE A BARCLAYS PREMIERSHIP CARD. ALL SEASON TICKET PURCHASED OVER £200 ARE INTEREST FREE UNTIL PAID OFF. THE CARD ITSELF IS RUBBISH SO I JUST KEEP IT IN A DRAW AND PULL IT OUT EACH YEAR. : :j

Being declined for Amex Nectar card.
Have been declined twice for the Amex Nectar credit card. A shame because I could really do with the Nectar points. I have an Amex Blue card already which I don't really use and I'm wondering if the fact that I hold that has anything to do with my being turned down. If so, I'd be quite happy to close it. Any views?

0% Credit Card with little or no credit history
I would really like a 0% credit card so that I can buy a cheapish second-hand car (2000 max) and pay it off quickly. However my chances aren’t that good. The only form of credit I have is my mobile phone which I have had for 6 months. I also have a BT line (does this count as credit?). I was turned down by Capital One in…
