in Credit cards
Hi
Recently got a amazon 0% credit card and trying to do a balance transfer via amazons web site, but when i type in my egg card number it reports that the BIN number (Bank identification Number) is not valid
The BIN Number (first 6 digits) of the first card entered is not valid for this payment.
anyone got any ideas why?
thanks
Lee

Amazon card is provided by Halifax.
There were other reports about similar problem with Halifax: can you have a surplus on a credit card account? ONLY BT 90% of credit limit?? ...0 -
thanks
My amazon card is as follows
Credit limit: £6,800
Available credit: £3,860.00
Current balance: £2,940.00
With 0% for 10 months and no BT fee
I was hoping to transfer £3500 to my egg card to do a bit of stoozing, guess i wont be able to do this now. Nevermind, will just pay off my debt instead
thanks0 -
Have you tried calling them and asking if they can do it manually?0
-
yes i will do that instead, guess really wondered why you couldnt online, with online banking and all that
thanks anyway0 -
It might be cause Egg Money is quite a new credit card, and they have not updated their systems online to be able to do it yet?0

Halifax wont accept a balance transfer from my MBNA card. Maybe they have just blacklisted cards that can provide a Super balance transfer.0

BTW, Amazon recently changed their T&C, believe its now 6months and 2% fee for BT, so check first0

i got in just before the T&C changed, got 10 months of 0%, thanks0
