Being declined for Amex Nectar card.

Have been declined twice for the Amex Nectar credit card. A shame because I could really do with the Nectar points. I have an Amex Blue card already which I don't really use and I'm wondering if the fact that I hold that has anything to do with my being turned down. If so, I'd be quite happy to close it. Any views?

Could well be that - since AMEX might think you already have enough credit through them and dont want to up your limits. Bonus is that if you close it, you shouldnt have to wait for it to show up on a credit report as they will see on their computers that it is closed straight away. I'd still wait a good few months, probably 6 in your case, before reapplying.
