Ebay Forcing Consent to store Credit Card details
Hi Forum, I recently used ebay to place a classified add for selling a motorcycle. I am happy to pay the required one off fee. However, to pay the fee I MUST set up a seller account (even though I am unlikely to ever sell anything again) and I MUST give consent to ebay storing my credit card details. I did not realise this…

I had a screen replacement on a laptop on October 18. On November 12, the new screen was broken. Unfortunately, I lost my receipt. I went to the store and the guy asked for my phone number, as he said the only way he can find my receipt on their system is via my phone no. After giving him my no., he said he couldn’t find…

Does the consumer right to a minimum 14 days cooling off apply to an Auto Renewal subscription. Subscription for premium website membership. Refurbished hoover out of warranty
I bought a refurbished hoover from Shark about 15 months ago. I found it a little clunky so I continued using my old hoover for a while. I started using the new hoover about two months ago as the old hoover started to show that it was worn e.g. suction was not as good. Almost straight away I noticed an issue i.e. the Shark…

Faulty tumble dryer out of warranty
Hello I purchased a Hoover tumble dryer from AO.com almost exactly 2 years ago. About a week ago it stopped working and an odd smell comes out of the dryer when it is turned on. Hoover have told me that I can either pay £120 (plus VAT I think) to have it repaired, or sign up to a repair plan for a year for £201. The…

Return to shop
I wondered what your rights are to return a damaged item to a shop miles away. My mother is being told that for shop bought purchases they can only be returned in person to the shop and not by post. Unlike me she is all for supporting the High Street and had a twice a year trip to Cambridge, but given the shop in question…

Yellow pages contract
My daughter has been bullied into a yellow pages advertising contract that she really can’t afford for a little home business that she started a month ago. She rang back a few days later to ask to cancel contract but they wouldn’t let her. They’ve reduced the price slightly. Is there really no 14 cooling off period for…

So I place an order with Tapi for a carpet. Merchant refuses to honour a warranty return, what can I do?
Just over 12 months ago I bought a waterproof jacket for my cycle commute to work. It's not been used very much at all but 10 months in I noticed it had begun to leak and subsequently noticed the sealed zipper had let in some water too. It's probably fine for short commutes but for day rides I wouldn't be confident in…

Small relative accidentally spent over £1700 in apple store purchases using my Grandma's card!
My grandma is not technologically proficient and was asked by a young member of the family if they could buy them an app for £1.80, they did so but assumedly didn't then remove their card details from the device. 3 weeks pass and now over £1700 has gone from my grandma's account (probably more but she can't bear to count…
