Reclaim back tax
Hi there, I recently gave a charity a £100 donation but it wasn't gift aided. Is it possible through my self assessment to claim back the full 40% in tax relief? (as I'm a higher rate tax payer) I've searched on Google but all hits relate to claiming back just the 18% following gift aid. Many thanks Nick

Used Christmas Cards
Couldn't find anything on here about this so thought I'd add. OH just told me that if used Christmas Cards are taken to Tescos they get sent on to the Woodland Trust. I'm sure there are other charities that take them but I'd not heard of this before:xmastree:

Charities that take old/worn clothes?
Does anyone know of any charities that take old or worn clothing? My OH works with glass so a lot of his clothes get holes in them from snagging it on the glass so i couldn't give them to a charity shop to be sold but thought they might be some charity that donates clothes to poorer countries just to help them stay warm?

ipod recycling?
Does anyone know if old ipods can be recycled for charity in the same way that old mobile phones can? I have been given a new one for Christmas and have an old one with a fractured screen. It still works but I just can't see what is playing! Don't want to throw it in the bin if it can be put to use.

I met a lady this afternoon who said that she knitted for charity - it was a very brief meeting and I didn't get a chance to ask her for further info, so I thought I'd ask here! The Field of Women event is set to take the UK by storm in 2008 as it promises to be the biggest charity event next year.
