Barclays - Visa transaction dispute
Hi all, I've an account with Barclays, normally in good standing with no issues. In November I attempted to book tickets with an online travel agent. At the 'book now' point having entered my info their website crashed. Subsequent attempts failed and I gave up and went elsewhere. As far as I was concerned the transaction…

Co-op bank switch
MSE is great for flagging up attractive switching offers - but sometimes the information is misleading. The blurb about the switching offer to the Co-operative bank suggests that you need to pay in £800.00 per month, however I reckon it's only a one off deposit that's required. Some of these switching offers (which don't…

Packaged Bank Accounts
Hi I have a Premier account with Barclays, I've had this since 1998 when Barclays insisted the company directors had to switch to Barclays Premier to get a business loan to buy the company. How far back does this apply too and do Business related loans count as well?

Claim bank switching bonus without switching?
Has anyone got any experience with claiming the bank switching bonus without switching? I was planning on switching (Halifax to First Direct) but Halifax also do a bonus. If I write them saying I'm switching due to the bonus, unless they'd like to give me their bonus, is there any chance of getting it? I don't see why a…

TSB Online Verification Code?
I've just opened an account with TSB and as part of their security procedure they have sent a letter with a Verification Code, which it says to enter next time I log in. But when I log in it doesn't ask for a code, and I'm limited on which of my personal details to change (I need to change my mobile number). Any ideas?

Problems with the Halifax.
When my mum died unbeknownst to me and my brothers my aunt stole my mum's debit card, gained access to her online banking facilities and between her and my grandmother emptied the accounts. I have been trying for several months to get the halifax to investigate this but all they seem to do is pass me from dept. to dept.…

Current account switching - always requires PAN?
Two banks have asked me for my existing 16 digit debit card number before they can process a current account switch. They're old accounts and I don't have the debit cards any more, so on the first occasion I had to re-order a new card for the account I was switching away from, wasting time and money. However, afterwards,…

Bad Credit - Bank Account
Sorry if this has been covered before, I couldn't find a search function. A friend of mine has bad credit and is struggling to get a decent back account, I advised her to try Barclays and The Cooperative's basic accounts (cashminder etc) which was a big help to me when I was in a similar financial situation a few years…

What are the legal standings?
My mum's uncle recently passed away and she and two others were named in the will. However just before he died my mum's cousin (who is not in the will) created a joint account with him and left everybody else with 14p and his property. Other assets such as jewelry that was left to his wifes neice has also gone missing.…

Cheque paid into wrong bank account
My partner took a cheque payable to me (for £112) and paid it into her own Nationwide account instead of our Nationwide joint account (she used the machine in the branch to pay it in). Obviously it should not be possible for a cheque payable to me to go into her bank account. I'm not bothered if the money finishes up in…

How long do I need to keep account open after receiving incentive?
Hi All, Basically, I transferred my Santander current account to Halifax to get the £100 incentive in August 2014. (Santander closed my branch, it was their own fault!) Now, I want to open a M&S current account so that I can take advantage of their regular saver with 6% interest. I can do that, no problem, but I see that…
