Transferring money from southern Ireland to UK
Hi there, can anyone give advice please? My friend and I have started a small business from a facebook page selling clothes. Lots of our customers are in Southern Ireland and are used to paying for things with postal orders or phone top ups on the online buy and sell pages. Obviously that's no good for us. We have managed…

Money Saving Expert Budgeting Tool
Hi I just went through the MSE budgeting tool for the first time--excellent product, but when I began the process I remember seeing the option to save it in Excel or one other format. Now that I've been through it online, I can no longer see that option. I'de like to save the budget work I've done in a comprehensive…

Lloyds Online Banking known issue
My transactions had not been showing on my online account - although the balance had been changing. Seems that when their system gets to 99 pages of 'online statements' it stops working. Only fix is to phone them and have your online statements reset!

Halifax now offering £100 switch
Went into Halifax the other day and they're now doing switches for £100 if you do it in branch rather than £50 online. Avoid the rush and make the most of it!

Opening basic bank account
Hi all, I am looking to open a bank or building society account as soon as possible, but I have very limited ID. It's probably easier to tell you what documents I do have........I have a recent letter from HMRC, which has my NI number on it, and I have recent addressed payslips, which also have my NI number on them. I also…

Lloyds TSB Internet Banking Issue when trying to phone verify
Has anyone else had an issue when setting up a new payment recently? It was working fine for years but now when I am called it just goes to voicemail, Lloyds are blaming O2 and O2 are blaming Lloyds. Very frustrating!

Every time my bank goes into positive credit I get a fine making me overdrawn.
I went overdrawn £5 in febuary, so put £5 in the bank to put me back in credit but a few days later I got fined which put me overdrawn again and I didn't notice this for a few weeks. Again, after putting my balance back into credit I got fined for £50 so I put £120 into the bank to cover the fine that I was bound to be due…

Switch current account or not (credit history related)
It's highly tempting to switch current accounts to First Direct. However, lack of stability is the only real negative in my credit history. I rent and have moved fairly regularly over the past few years - 18 months in the current flat is a new record! I have also changed jobs fairly regularly - between 9 and 18 months at…
