Account Alerts and Charges
In everybody's opinion, I wish to know which are the best bank account to switch to from smile.co.uk. Which offer free account alerts when the funds are low in a certain account. Me and my Partner use a joint account to spend on during the week, which we tranfer a set amount in per month. Sometimes we incur charges due to…

A&L /Santander Premier Account facilities upgrade - glitch
Apologies if this has been flagged... My Premier Account and linked savings accounts were moved over to the new Santander interface some months ago. Last month they (Santander) advertised an upgrade facility which allows you to manage e-Documents etc (as per their Preferred c/a) (nothing new there). I noticed that all my…

Campaign to get better rates for our current accounts and mortgages
Hi, i have recently set up a campaign to try and get the banks to offer us better rates for loans and mortgages by proposing everyone to switch bank accounts. This will then make banks more competitive and offer their existing customers greater deals rather than just competing for newer customers (i.e. the students). Banks…

I've been refused a Current Account
Hello everybody, I'm a little upset today if I'm honest because I've just been refused a Current Account with my bank. The reason I even bothered to apply for one was because the customer advisor said I was an "ideal candidate" for it and that my internal score with the bank was very high. I think it was a three,…

Hello all, Just a query I have regarding my HSBC account. I recently spent about a year abroad, and during this time opened a foreign bank account or just used cash. HSBC Graduate account ending- no longer interest free overdraft
I need some help. I'm a doctor with a decent salary amounting to take-home pay of around £1800 a month which goes into my HSBC account. This was a graduate account, but as of next month (I think) this runs out and becoms a normal account. This means my interest free overdraft also expires, and I will now have to pay 15.9%…

Hi there, I asked about this before but unfortunately nobody replied :( I recently signed up for online banking and I noticed that any payments I have seem to go into my account a good few days earlier than they're supposed to but still show up on my statements as being paid in on the day they're meant to be. I've never…

Random bank payments into my account
Hi - I've had 3 payments into my bank account (from my bank). They have been for different amounts - £30, 15 and 10 I think (in that region). They have the ref LTSB IS BUSINESS. Santander are so useless!
How's this for a Kafka-esque run-around? I closed my Santander account by phone in February 2011, and was told that I would receive a cheque within 8 working days. Four months and umpteen phone calls later, the Financial Ombudsman's office tell me that they're four weeks behind dealing with all complaints, and I still…
