Santander are so useless!

How's this for a Kafka-esque run-around? I closed my Santander account by phone in February 2011, and was told that I would receive a cheque within 8 working days. Four months and umpteen phone calls later, the Financial Ombudsman's office tell me that they're four weeks behind dealing with all complaints, and I still don't have my money! There's no prospect of the FO looking into my complaint for at leat a few weeks. 'Supervisors' at Santander fail to return my calls, and I'm losing interest on my hard-earned money. Any suggestions?

    If you have tried their own complaints system and have hit a brick wall. You might like to try sending an e-mail to the Boss of Santander telling him of your problem & see what occurs. You need to check this out for yourself but someone on this Forum said it was:

    www.CEO@Santander.co.uk

    Rember e-mails are not secure. So best not give sensitive info.

    However the FO cannot be bought into this untill you have gone through the banks own complaints procedure, I understand.

    Once a bank has had your complaint for 8 weeks you can involve the Financial Ombudsman. The bank's failure to deal with the complaint in a timely fashion should be added to the original complaint.

    i emailed santander recently and they called me back the same day and were quite good. Good luck hope you get it sorted soon.
