This is weird, hopefully you can help?

Hi there, I asked about this before but unfortunately nobody replied I recently signed up for online banking and I noticed that any payments I have seem to go into my account a good few days earlier than they're supposed to but still show up on my statements as being paid in on the day they're meant to be. I've never heard of banks doing this and what's even stranger is that I can withdraw the money, sometimes a whole four or five days before it's supposed to clear!?

For example, I receive DLA every Wednesday but it almost always shows up in my account the previous Friday (sometimes Monday) but it's still dated as being paid into my account on the Wednesday which means that if I check my online banking on Saturday, I'll have the DLA payment there but dated for next Wednesday as available to me on my account.. I'm able to take out this money and it shows as part of my available balance and I also have other payments which show up on my account a good few days before they're supposed to be available. I bank with Halifax and just have a basic account. I'm sorry if this is confusing but I guess you can see why I had to ask this question. Has this ever happened for you? is it commonplace?
