Systematically Throttled BB Speed
I'm rural so slow Broadband. EE said line supports up to 7.5Mbps and guaranteed minimum of 2Mbps (that's what EE *contracted* to give me). Maybe poor by city standards but that speed is tolerable for the little we use it. After a couple of months into contract the speed slowly began to degrade. EE know because they sent me…

But upstairs I am getting 7.24 or less - Vodafone - I am switching from is 30mb+ in the same room and the virgin guy was saying their router is 50x stronger! Upload of just 0.32. The installation guy said he…

Final Bill - Legal Rights
I left a supply agreement with TalkTalk on Monday 29th July at exactly 10.21am, when Openreach switched my line (and supply agreement) over to Plusnet. In short, TalkTalk were trying to insist I pay a whole months charges in advance (although I was only their customer for one day that month), which I refused to pay…

3 (HG3) overcharging us - rip off ?
Hi Signed up for a portable internet deal at £22pm with 3. The first month they took over £55. We phoned to query this and they said we had signed up at £60pm. We had not received the 14 day cooling off letter until well after this, so they said it was too late to cancel (hardly our fault). They said they would reduce…

Desperately trying to cancel Virgin Broadband....
I have moved cable broadband provider, and attempted on several occasions to cancel my Virgin contract. Email has not worked. Phoning is impossible having waited over 45 minutes and still no answer (and I can't just dial 150 either as I'm on the new supplier). Sent a recorded delivery and standard delivery letter (shows…

Trying to haggle / cancel Sky broadband
My Sky broadband contract is up on the 12th September, so aware of the need to give them 31 days notice, I have been trying to speak to someone about it yesterday and today. Either to haggle a new deal - although it looks like they will be unable to get close to Plusnet plus Plusnet's no price increase guarantee - or to…

Talk Talk renewed contract I believe taking advantage of vulnerable adult
I have become good friends with a gentleman who really is not very tech savvy, I fix his computer and phone when the simplest issues arise. Usually restarting the device works wonders but we both enjoy having a chat, he has mobility issues and I don't wish to say anything else but you get the picture. He has no savings and…

Cancelled supplier setup my new line

A lie...when I had my confirmation email it said the same as the others were quoting! They were more expensive so I cancelled. A…

Vodafone broadband contract query
Hi, looking for some advice. We moved in to a rental property while our house sold and I took out an eighteen month contract with Vodafone for broadband and explained we would be moving. Hi, I missed a payment by one day, and went to make the payment the following day. The website is seemingly glitched. I want to pay this bill and have been attempting to for four days now. What is the cheapest basic broadband option if I move to hull?
I have been enjoying the cheap £12-15 per month broadband offers for a few years now as gathered from the offers on MSE, I really will miss that if I move to hull and there are no good alternatives. I just looked on their website and they seem to be deliberately be hiding their basic broadband offer. I saw it in the small…

Broadband Comparison tool deals out of date
Just to point out that some of the deals listed on the Broadband Comparison tool are no longer available and haven't been for a few days e.g. TalkTalk Faster Broadband 11Mbps at £17.95 (now £21.50) and Fibre 38Mbps (now £26). Same on Broadband Choices. I managed to switch to Fibre on Sunday for the £22.45 deal but my…

Virgin making no attempt to keep me, how about others?
We've been with Virgin Media (Broadband only) for a few years now and usually pay around £31/£33 for their 200Mbps package. Usually when the price increases come they waive them for us or give us monthly bill credit to cancel it out but this time it's up at £39 and they aren't offering much in the way of keeping us. I…
