i am on £25 per month for (fibre) broadband only i've just had the letter about the bills going up so i can leave if i want. TBH i have found the speeds pretty poor and often the internet does not even work for short periods. i wonder if i phone up to leave virgin if they might offer me a better deal - either cheaper or…

What are my rights? - Really bad EE contract so far
A little background: Signed up to EE around March / April time. It took them over a month to first connect me. I complained, and got a little bit of money back, but I paid the phoneline upfront and now only pay £2 a month for the actual connection. Max refunded was that £2 month. Moved to a different city at the end of…

Decent broadband deals that can move with me?
I'm likely to be moving house in the next few months. Are there any decent broadband/phone deals at the moment that I could take with me when I move? I'm overpaying now, but don't want to end up paying for a full year's contract if I lose service when I move.

BT price hike - can anyone advise me on switching?
We are talking last straws here. I switched to BT a few years back to get away from what was a dreadful Virgin service, since when I find I'm going regularly over my 'broadband limit' (thus incurring penalties) and am frequently beset by technical problems, not least the little-publicised BT Vision/iPlayer incompatibility.…

Need to find out if the phoneline in rented flat is connected?
Hiya. My son is moving into a house on Friday. The landlord has been pretty sketchy and does not know if the phone line has been disconnected or not. My son needs the internet as soon as possible due to work, so I am wondering is there anything he can do to test it? If it is not connected, can you please advise us what the…

No broadband from PlusNet
We have moved from TalkTalk to PlusNet and the change over date was due to be 14/08. However, the TalkTalk service ended on this date but PlusNet didn't start. I called them and they say the network became full and they can't provide broadband to us until resolved. I find this quite hard to believe as we had completely…

My line has mysteriously become "BT Incompatible"!
Hi I hope someone is able to help me - at least help me more than Tesco have! Long story short; * In 2007 I moved into my new house & setup my BT phone-line, with Sky TV & Broadband (BB) soon after. Sky required a BT compatible line to provide service. * A few years later I changed my phone-line to Sky aswell. * Last year…

Sky broadband retention
Had a nice experience with the sky retention, my broadband and talk contract was ending so asked for MAC and they made the broadband free for a year. I know EE and talk talk both are having good quidco/MSE deals but my experience with sky has been excellent. I had plusnet for sometime last year and it was a nightmare.…

Plusnet Retention Fibre £10 p/m for 18m
Seems a good deal - pay upfront for the line rental to get a discount on that, and say your moving to a better deal (naming one) and they offered £10 a month for 38Mb fibre for 18 months.

What benefit from fibre?
Is it worth getting fibre? Or is it all a bit of oversell for the average non gaming user? I have been thinking about getting an internet tv and maybe a you view box, though presumably if the tv is linked to the net, I can do 4 OD etc anyway?

Plusnet £30 cease charge
Have recently contacted Talk Talk to take up their Broadband service and switch from Plusnet, I noticed that on my Plusnet account they have charged me a £30 cease charge stating that a LLU PSTN cease has been placed on my account. Not wanting to spend half of my life waiting to get my calls answered to Plusnet can anyone…

Sky Broadband very poor
A few months back we switched to Sky telephone and broadband during upgrading to Sky+ HD. This is now turning out to be the worst decision ever. Sky Broadband reliability is extremely poor and the service regularly drops off several times a day and Sky Customer Service is appalling, (if you can actually get hold of them in…

BT Cancellation Fee
I signed up to BT Broadband Option 1 in 2009, which had a one year contract and I now wish to move to another provider, but I have been told that I will have to pay a cancellation fee of £30. I was not aware of this when I signed up and I there is nothing about this in the documentation that I received. I would be grateful…

Trying to be clever with TalkTalk
I have been a talktalk customer for many years as they always give discounts to extend the contract. However, I've possibly though of a way to get their top package but even cheaper and hoped someone may spot any holes in my theory: Background I'm a plusTV package user and always get a 12 month contract after paying…

Few questions regarding TalkTalk
Hey Guys I have a few queries regarding TalkTalk, which I am hoping some of you may be able to help with First of all, a little bit of background information. We joined TalkTalk last year, and took out a brand new, 12 month contract on our new marital home, I paid £114 upfront for 12 months line rental, and took the…

Do I need to switch landline provider? - First time internet buyer
Hey everyone, I'm a complete and utter newbie at this but I'll do my best to explain my situation and word my questions clearly. I've already established I cannot get fibre optic internet in my new house, so that's disappointing. I currently have an active BT landline, which I've checked by calling 17070, but I do not want…

Plusnet price hike - cancellation problems
Was wondering if anyone else have had similar experiences with Plusnet trying to switch provider after they announced a price rise on their line rental recently. Read about their price hikes recently on moneysavingexpert news website, phoned them up this evening and told them I wish to cancel without prejudice as they had…

TalkTalk Offering more for less...
Just in case anyone is a current (may also work with new) TalkTalk customer, I'll share my story: I recently called up to upgrade to Fibre on my Simply Broadband package. I'm currently paying £3.50 a month (value line rental already paid), I was offered fibre for an extra £5 a month for 12 months with no upfront fees, so I…

Can you get faster internet speeds mid-contract?
I'm on the BT Infinity package and I believe when we first got it in November (on an 18m contract), we were told we would get between 50-60mb/s. At the moment on the router page, the actual connection is 58mb/s. We have no problem with the speed but as always it can be better (especially when everyone in the house is using…

In What Order Do I Switch Broadband Providers?
Ok so I'm going to be moving from Sky to TalkTalk for phone and broadband (was originally a Bethere customer then jumped to sky early for the deal, but that deal is now over). Now I've read lots of horror stories about Sky when trying to cancel (maybe that's just TV), but when I go through the TalkTalk checkout process…
