Trying to be clever with TalkTalk

I have been a talktalk customer for many years as they always give discounts to extend the contract. However, I've possibly though of a way to get their top package but even cheaper and hoped someone may spot any holes in my theory:
Background
I'm a plusTV package user and always get a 12 month contract after paying upfront line rental. Currently I'm paying £15pm which ends in November. I've got the YouView+ box (supposed £300) which works fine.
My idea is that instead of renewing the PlusTV package, can I not instead purchase the broadband only deal £1.75 per month and then pay the £5/month topup for all inclusive calls? Total price £6.75 which then increases to £8.50 for the remaining 12 months. Added benefit of trying to get £100 lovetoshop voucher as new customer too!
As I've already got the YouView box, in theory I shouldn't notice any difference than my capabilities today?
Freeview is the same
On demand (iplayers) are free
Box is mine after completing other contract.
Other option is to renew PlusTV but try and get second box for bedroom.
Comments greatly appreciated.
