Visiting abroad on Universal Credit
I've been on Universal Credit for at least over a year now and never left the country. I plan to go to the Netherlands within the next few months to visit a friend for a week and a few days, and because of the length, I knew I'd have to tell my advisor in case they needed me in. I recall when I was on JSA once before that…

Council tax reduction given but only if you apply online !
The scenario is this... in receipt of pension credit and eligible for a deduction in Council tax but Birmingham Council will only give you the deduction if you apply online ! I think this is disgraceful. So many older people do not have computers. The person I know who wanted to fill in a form to get the reduction was told…

Do you think I should get my MP invovled (ESA)
I have been waiting from the 5th of June to see if I've been put in a group or need a medical. It was the 5th of June they received my questioner. My staff have rang up and apparently I'm at the top of the queue for my questioner to been seen by a doctor. Since my social worker filled in the questioner and my appointee…

DWP and 'dissipation of assets'
Hi. I am about to come into some money via an endowment policy maturing. The amount will take me over the £16K savings limits for benefits. How much (if anything) does the DWP allow one to spend or give away to take my total savings amount below the limit? My preferred solution would be to give an amount to my children.…
