Do you think I should get my MP invovled (ESA)

Options
I have been waiting from the 5th of June to see if I've been put in a group or need a medical. It was the 5th of June they received my questioner. My staff have rang up and apparently I'm at the top of the queue for my questioner to been seen by a doctor.

Since my social worker filled in the questioner and my appointee signed it I want to know what he write about me. They try and dampen my diagnosis and don't tell me much about my condition (I didn't know I was schizoaffective for over a year because my psychiatrist and social workers/team concluded which each other to keep it quiet in a best interest decision as they thought it would trigger me so I'm very anxious to get the ESA report before my social worker comes back off sick leave and tells my appointee not to send me the report.

Do you think I should get my MP involved, Its been 7 months. The DWP won't speak to me about ESA. Its flagged on their computer.

As you have an appointee it would be the appointee who would have to speak to the MP, not yourself. The people at ESA are acting correctly in refusing to discuss the situation with you whilst an appointee is in place.

Given that you are already in the support group, there's little urgency in reassessment, and on what you've said your entitlement is unlikely to change. Try not to worry yourself about it.
  • I'm anxious to read the report and what my social wrote in the questioner. He's kept in quiet what he wrote and since Notts NSH trust keep information from me I would like to know whats in the report. My social worker is off ill and this is an ideal time to ask my appointee to ask the DWP for the report and my appointee send it to me. When my social worker comes back he is likely to disallow me to see the reports.

If I remember rightly you have a professional appointee. They'll be well aware that you're not allowed to see the report, irrespective of whether your SS is there or not.

If you want access to your medical information then discuss this with your support staff and ask that your capacity be reassessed.
  • I filled in a request for access form in around September asking for my NHS information. The day centre printed it off for me and I filled it in and I've heard nothing since. My community nurse rang them and they have received it form. They are hiding my information from me while saying they are being transparent which I know their not, they are purposely hiding my personal information from me.

I really think it should be your Social Worker that you should be talking to abou this and all of your other issues. It would be far better to do this rather than post on a forum all the time.

As for your ESA, you're in the Support Group and the chances are you've been kept in there and they haven't told you. As you have an appointee they would need to contact DWP and ask them because DWP won't be able to speak to you directly.
  • My social worker is off ill, has been since September. My community nurse will not deal with it because my benefits is more social than medical. I refuse to work with the other social worker the LD team who was appointed to me as she's stuck up and I instantly disliked her, I told her 'you one off those social workers that take kids off mothers by lying about them' She didn't like that. I don't have any other options left.

Normally people who have appointees are incapable of managing their own affairs...

One would question your ability to come on here and complain or worry about MP's....

    Just saying.

You have the option to stop judging people who are trying to help you. Work with the social worker, whether you think she's stuck up or not, and over time you might prove yourself capable of dealing with your medical information. Being difficult or non compliant is not going to help you one bit.

Capacity assessments are context specific. Being able to ask questions on the internet is entirely different to being able to handle medical information or finances.

I would say though that the OP gives away far too much identifying information, and have no doubt that his support staff know exactly what he is posting.
