Hi,
I would like some advice on annual holiday whilst on maternity leave please.
I am due on 15th June 2018 with first baby.
Our holiday runs January - December. I get 23 days holiday (plus additional 8 bank holidays). Total 31 days
We have to keep 3 days holiday and use them for the Christmas shutdown.
Questions:
Bank holidays that occur whilst i am on maternity leave - do I get this at full pay or SMP?
As i will be on maternity leave in December 2018 do I have to use 3 days holiday for the shutdown, will I receive SMP payment or full pay?
If I can carry over my holiday into 2019, wait until SMP finishes, including unpaid leave can I then use take the carry over holiday and get full pay whilst at home?
Will this mess up my tax for April? Hence why i don't want to take holiday pay before maternity smp starts and next years tax could be higher if they think that is normal pay?
Just looking at whats best to do, I just want to make sure I get what I am entitled to and don't lose out.
Thanks in advance.
Laura

You can’t stop maternity leave, take annual/bank holiday leave then restart maternity. Annual/bank holiday leave will need to be taken before or after maternity. So unless you choose to end maternity early, you’ll still be on maternity leave in December.
As you get more than the statutory leave, you’ll need to check with your employer if you can carry forward more than the statutory amount.
Unsure what you mean regarding tax. Tax will work itself out over the year.0
