JSA - Can't Claim if Have a Child?

Options
Noticed this: https://www.gov.uk/jobseekers-allowance/eligibility
You may get Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) if the following apply:
you’re 18 or over and don’t have a child

What does it mean? Surely it's not saying that parents cannot claim JSA?

You can meet any of those criteria separately so a 19 year old without a child may be able to claim JSA as can someone who is not in FT employment.

I don't know why but it seemed strange when I first looked at it too.

Not just poorly written, utterly nonsensical and totally wrong. The wording states that anybody over 18 and with children can't claim JSA!

I clicked on the link and read the page - has it changed, because I can't see a line which suggests that you cannot claim JSA if you are over 18 and have a child ???

Yes it has changed, the first line said exactly what the OP has quoted.
