Evening All

I'm turning 22 soon and all I've been doing is trying my best to navigate life.

What does the future look like for me?

What did you think about your 20s and how were they ? :o

    A chemical induced blur...
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

I had a wonderful time, genuinely the best years of my life.

I had 2 husbands & lots of boyfriends (loads - they were quite casual & didnt meet my daughter).

I was mother to a young daughter, I worked hard & I partied hard. I still got up took my daughter to school, did my job, housework & motherly responsibilities.

It was the late 80s & early & mid 90s, the rave era :-), the birth of uk garage.

My twenties were pretty good - left college, started working, bought a flat. Was young, free and single most of the time - only myself to worry about. Had lots of fun going to gigs and festivals, did some study, played a lot of music, travelled, lots of socialising. If I could back in time 20 years I'd tell myself (a) to start a pension and savings plan then, and (b) one cat leads inevitably to loads of rescued cats. Apart from that, it's all good :)

Do you have any specific plans so far? How do you envisage your life at 30 - what do you hope to achieve?

THE best days of my life, non-stop partying really.

I didn't have a mortgage until 28 and children until I was 30, so for the majority of my 20's I had no real responsibilities, the freedom to travel, spend what I wanted and choose jobs because I liked the sound of them and men because I liked their smile.

Would I do anything differently, hell no!

Amazing and stress free,,I traveled the world and did the things you dream of..
I never got married until my mid- thirties because there were places to see and things to do..
Do today what you will unable to do tomorrow....
Make the most of your 20s because i am now nearly 50 and some of those plane journeys would fill me with dread..And in your 20s you do not mind slumming it (a little bit).
I did burn out in the end,And now-days do not even drink or smoke.

It depends what you want from life OP - you will get stories from people with very different experiences / walks of life here, your 20's are what you make them

For me, my 20's were a great deal of fun, many nights out and holidays and some fabulous memories. I didn't plan for the future any further than the next weekends bender nor take my career seriously. IMO 20s are about having fun, theres plenty of time for other more serious stuff later

I am in my 30's now, and recently got married, and house buying is on the cards. I take my career very seriously now and really couldn't compare myself to how I was ten years ago. In my 20s I wouldn't have thought twice about skiving work due to a hangover, but wouldn't dream of acting so irresponsible now.
The opposite of what you know...is also true
