Mint

Hi, having had my first rejection letter from Mint this morning, I would be interested to hear if anyone has had success claiming back their charges, and if so at what stage it reached?

I successfully claimed from Halifax but the much smaller claim from Mint is going nowhere fast!

  • has any body had any dealings with mint.

Thinking about it i bet they owe me a fair few pennies.
  • Hmm, I had a bit of a bad do with Mint. They balanced transferred something without telling me the credit limit so it was bang up to the limit. Then they sent my first statement asking for the first payment (+charge they added because amount +interest took me over my credit limit, all without me having chance to even make the first payment!) If it had happened now I would have rung up, but at the time I just thought, that's a bit unfair. But this was many moons ago when I didn't think to challenge a big bad bank. So I got charged about two months running till I got it back under again. Just about to send an SAR asking for my moola back. If you get anyway let me know, be nice to know what the chances are!

I don't understand I sent the same standard letter to two different RBS companies and one RBS (current account) wrote back and credited my account with my £715 :j

    BUT

the other company, Mint have written back within the same time frame refusing to pay me any of my charges because they don't agree with the OFT £12 recommondation.

What do i do now?

I can't understand why one company was so easy and the other is being more difficult?

It doesnt matter if they agree or not, send your letter giving them 14 days to reply before court action, you will eventually get your money, they are just being a bit more stubborn. I have just received £280 back from Halifax despite them acknowledging my claim on Moneyclaim, they wanted to scare me off but it didnt work :T . Good luck
