OS Daily thread January 2nd 2007

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 2nd January 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good Morning... yawn,,,,,,,,,,,
What a night. The North wind has been lashing my bedroom windows all night with hail and rain. One of my Children had a stomach ache and so kept me awake.... I don't think I slept too good at all.
Still today is my first shopping day since Christmas and I need to go and check the remains of the sales out. I don't need much but I have to get the idea out of my system, a bit like Mr Toad on Wind in the Willows last night.
Did anyone see that?
I think I have seen enough of Christmas now. It's almost time to clear out the fridge of all the left over pate and mouldy cheese etc. Time for soem recipee posts on how to use up garbage food.
Well folks. Have a nice day....

Morning all
Yes, I'm back to Asda today for my first shopping of the year. My meal plan for the week is all done, I'm looking at my shopping list, all I've got to do now is get a bath, breakfast, dressed and I'm good to go. So I'll just have another cuppa ...
N9eav, I'm with you on the "had enough of Christmas" front. I'm doing some serious hankering to get rid of the decorations and paraphernalia - and I'd quite like to reclaim the space the Christmas Tree is occupying! Its all starting to look such a mess now, I'll be glad to get it all tucked away for another year. However, I've an 8yo who won't let me put away so much as a strand of tinsel before the appointed day (the 6th), so I'm just going to have to put up with it for a few more days.
I was musing on doing Thriftlady's lentil flan and wondering how leftover Stilton might cope with being included as part of the cheese ration! The house would certainly smell "interesting" as it cooked.
B : not porridge, as yesterday's went in the bin because it tasted of pizza sauce (the last thing to be made in that saucepan). YUK! Going to get a new saucepan to keep specifically for porridge and lemon curd, today! So probably toast.
L : ham sandwich, leftover pickles etc.
D : leek & bacon pasta.:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -

Morning Guys!
Not a great night, but cant moan:D
We are going to the Zoo today. Will be wearing thermals and a blanket over my lap and taking the umbrella. Luckily, many of the animals are inside enclosures so shouldnt get too wet:rolleyes: We are taking a flask of soup, flask of coffee as well as sarnies, bread and butter for the soup, crisps, fruit and cakes:o .....all the walking around gets me so hungry:rotfl: DD has her pass so it cost us £8 to go altogether...not too bad. We are only there about 4hrs-but may pop into Thurrock on way home at their big Tesco...if we do, I will probably sit in the car:D
Not enough washing to put a load on and shower curtains came out well yesterday. DW was emptied by DD and the loo has been cleaned.
DD is back to school on Thursday so she will get her stuff sorted tomorrow. All uniform is ironed fer her though.
Better go. Hugs to all.

Good Morning earlybirds. A quick visit for me today because the laptop doesn't want to play so I am on the old PC which is in the conservatory which is not the warmest place in the house at this time of the day!!
So, seeing clients for most of the day but determined to fit in my flylady challenges in between. We have a Norwegian A level student lodge with us who is returning from Norway this evening so need to make sure that his room is fresh and bedding put on etc.
Have a good day, everyone and I hope you don't get too blown away by the weather!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Good morning everyone. :hello:
I had hoped to have a lie in this morning but I was wakened by an impatient cat who wanted her breakfast. She can't seem to get her head around the fact that when we're all off on holiday the day starts about three hours later than it does in term time.
Anyway now I'm up I may as well make a start on things....the dishes are done, the breadmaker's on and I'm coming round slowly with a cup of coffee.
No plans yet for the rest of the day...I'll need to wait until everyone else gets up to see what they want to do.
I hope you all have a good one.

Good morning everyone,
Well, im back at work too, so just having a browse before little one gets here, although she is due at 7.30, im sure she will be a lot later, but couldnt stay in bed, just in case (she wouldve been 7.30 if i had!!!)
Anyway, i have a lovely cuppa, and some peace as my 2 are still in bed. They dont go back to school until next Monday, but i like having them home, so thats fine with me.
No major plans today, see what sort of mood all the children will be in (an older one here after lunch) Do want to look at the Trago Mills website to see if they are doing their normal sale (10% off everything on Tuesdays and Thursdays) cos we might take a drive down there on Thursday if thats right.
Right, better go - thank you yesterday for all the lovely thoughts when i was feeling a bit down, it helped cheer me up no end!!!
Hope everyone has a lovely day - and WELL DONE DLB, bet it feels wonderful to say you are now a 'non-smoker'!!!
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
forgot to say - twink and kyle - love your new avys, your boys look lovely!!!!!0
