Has anyone heard anything more about sky broadband yet?
I seem to remember a while back hearing they would announce details on 17/07/06?
Edit:
Details here: http://87.86.186.37/flash.htm

Hi Hillfly,
Heard on Working Lunch that they'll be releasing details tomorrow but not sure on what they'll be offering yet. Seems it will be a free broadband deal similar to talk talk and orange - hope so anyway as I've been waiting for this news for a while!

That seems to be what i've read elsewhere as well. It seems as if its going to be free broadband to its top spending customers, and as i'm on the premium pack already, i'm watching this quite closley

"BSkyB, about 38 percent owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp (NWS.N: Quote, Profile, Research) and run by his son James, is expected by analysts to offer inexpensive or perhaps free broadband when it is bundled with satellite TV and home phone services.
The company could also expand its plans to deliver video content over high-speed Internet connections. It already allows subscribers to watch sports and movies on their computers.
Some analysts have warned that the company could face expensive outlays in the first several years of its broadband service, due in part to the cost of installing its own equipment in BT's telephone exchanges to gain direct access to homes and businesses, known as local loop unbundling.
UBS analyst Daniel Kerven estimates that BSkyB will add 250,000 broadband subscribers in the first year, resulting in a loss of 71 million pounds, with the unit breaking even in five years.
If the company adds 1 million customers in the first year, Kerven estimates that initial losses will be about 140 million pounds, breaking even in three years."PF.0 -

That link seems to blow away internet explorer every time I try it !
Please could you cut the basic points of the release and post it here ?

Certainly looks interesting. 12 month minimum term and only an extra £5 per month for 8mb / 40GB service
Is this a LLU type thing? I'm guessing it'll only be worthwhile for those in a Sky Broadband area.

Looks like it will be 30% coverage when it starts up and with them gearing up to 70% coverage by end of 2007. It seems to be a LLU rollout. To infinity and beyond!0
