What's it about?

Back in July 06 Bailey started this thread to help all pregnant MoneySavers and their partners save on anything pregnancy-related plus give each other moral support. It's been hugely popular and now has a long list of pregnant mothers-to-be. Now it's not just for those that are pregnant but also those trying to conceive and MoneySavers that have probably already given birth and yet are probably too tired to let everyone know.

What should you do?

As well as being a great source of tips, baby-related bargains spotted, mutual support and help MoneySavers here have also gradually built up a list, adding themselves to one of these categories (the last one, people are moved to for obvious reasons!): If you want to add yourself to the list follow these steps:
  • Click on the link at the top of this page that says "Last" (it'll take you to the last page of the discussion)
  • Scroll down until you find the message with the very latest copy of the list in (if you use one further up the discussion other peoples' changes after that will be lost)
  • Copy that (highlight it and click control+c)
  • Click reply at the bottom of the thread to open a screen where you can past it (click control+p)
  • Add yourself to the list then click save
  • And don't feel shy. Introduce yourself, say hello and ask a question if you need to.
Plus, if you're thinking of how to cut down on nappy costs remember to have a read of the Nappy MoneySaving article too and for later down the line if you need childcare first read the Childcare Vouchers article. Speech-Mark-Right.gif

Was just catching up on the last thread and about to reply when it got closed!

I'm still here, now 9 days overdue.

Went for my second sweep this morning, which was a lot more uncomfortable and 'scrape-y' than the first. The midwife who did it today said that I am 'all water' in there, and the amount of fluid is stopping babies head from engaging any further and setting the labour off into action, so unless the waters break by themselves, it's unlikely I will go into labour before the induction.

Had a bit of crampy belly and sore lower back since then, but had that after first sweep on Thursday too and nothing more happened. Got to go back for another sweep tomorrow for one last go before going into hospital on Monday afternoon for the induction.

Come on Baby Honeypop, I am getting very impatient now... out you come!

    Oooh, new thread.

Come on Baby Honeypop! Hurry up for mummy. I am not looking forward to the waiting around for an overdue baby - it must be so frustrating!

Pookie - I think SS's suggestion is a good one - it would make the woman feel really small and embarrassed, thinking everyone is now talking about her! And don't do the bedbathing - at the end of the day, your health is more important than someone else's opinion. Now, try to destress with chocolate or something. x

Yes it's very frustrating, knowing that each day could be the day and it doesn't matter how much you try and put it out of your mind and think 'it will come when it's ready', it still is annoying! Although not as much as the annoying calls and texts asking if there's any news when I've told people umpteen times that as soon as there IS news we will let everyone know.

cheers girls it just made me really mad cos it's not like I am sitting swinging my legs whilst others are working I am always working away doing other non-lifting things.Think I might have a word with sister, not mentioning any names and get her opinion. Know what she will say though cos she is always telling me to "get away" in a nice jokey way when she sees me helping move patients up the bed or other types of manual handling.
Anyway another question has anyone has to have b12 injections and do they hurt? My iron and b12 stores are in my boots (had bloods taken on monday and checked labs on computer in work on Tuesday but midwife still hasn't phoned me to tell me !!) Might call on Monday to tell her but think that is quite lax, know it's not life threatening but still........... if I can see the results then so can she!!
    Coming soon............

    I'm an idiot.

I've been sitting here for about 15 minutes desperate for a wee but refusing to get up, because I heard a little crackling/popping noise earlier on and was convinced it was my waters going - and obviously if I didn't stand up they wouldn't be obvious and I could pretend everything was fine.

Eventually I got brave and stood up ... and it was nothing at all.

Still crampy and shooty pains in legs and the bottom of my bump and foof. Nothing regular and nothing further. But I do think the 21st June, midsummer's day, is a good day for babies.

Hey ladies. Sorry everyone seems to be suffering one way or another. Sending positive vibes to you all. And thinking of both Dylan and Rhys still battling on.

I have finally painted the nursery. I have spent all week emptying it and trying to find a new home for all my junk. Thursday I polyfilled the holes from the shelves, yesterday I sanded the polyfiller and at 2.15pm today I finished painting. Woohoo. It looks gorgeous and I can't wait for Dad to come and put the furniture up so that it really looks like a bedroom.

Yesterday I was taken on a magical mystery tour by one of my colleagues (in work time but shhh!). He drove me across site to his car and very generously bestowed on me a giant carrier bag of clothes from his twin granddaughters which he then drove back the other side and put in my car for me. I was so touched as I have never met his daughter but she was kind enough to sort through all their old clothes to give to me. Some of it still has labels on and all of it is branded and in amazing condition.

Once my back stops hurting from all the painting I'm off to tesco for wine and chocolates to say thank you. I'll make a nice card tomorrow whilst I'm making dads fathers day card. They are spoiling me with a barbeque tomorrow since my house isn't big enough for my brothers in-laws and my family.

Hope you are all enjoying the same beautiful sunshine as me
