Morning all! I have just recieved a parcel I wasn't expecting anything, but thought it was one of my freebies eventually comning through, but no, its Mango charging me 99p for a load of crap in a box its all junk mail and a book that I have no interest in, I havent joined mango (and wouldnt) so all i can think of is when im doing my clicking for free stuff Ive made a mistake.
Where do I stand with this now, I dont want them to send me any more crap books, and I certainly don't want the crap they've sent me today, Am I in an agreement now or can I send the things back, telling them to **** ***??

Hello again, I tried to contact the company this afternoon and couldn't get to speak to anyone, just automated nonsense. Does anyone have any experience with these book clubs?0

If the goods are unsolicited, then you don't have to pay anything. It's also an offence for them to try and charge you for the goods. You can treat the goods as a free gift, you don't have to return them.

Hi,
Exactly the same thing happened to me last week!! I had an email from Mango AND World Books saying they were processing my application for membership. I emailed them back saying I had never heard of them or applied for anything. I didnt get a reply, but then like you received a box of rubbish and paperwork asking for 99p! I phoned them and said I had never applied to them and where had they got my details from? The response was that I may have inadvertently clicked on one of their pop-ups!! She said she would send a label to return it. I also asked if they were anything to do with World Books, and Yes I was told they were, and an order was waiting to be sent out to me from them as well. She assured me it was all cancelled.

Hi, the exact same happend to me this morning so I emailed Mango and told them quite firmly that they had sent UNSOLICITED MAIL - and I wished them to collect it and also stated that under no circumstances was I paying for the item to be returned. Have so far received an automated reply saying that my email is being deal with - but no further news yet. Will let you know how I get on.
Thanks VikkiRemember is nice to be important but more important to be nice0 -

How on earth would they get your name and address just by 'clicking on a pop up'??

Hello everyone - just thought I would update you all on my MANGO Parcel.
After emailing them yesterday and receiving firstly an automated reply. I have today received an email from them stating that a prepaid address label was being sent to me so that I could return the goods to them, and that they would remove my details from there files.
I have now emailed them back and stated that I think its disgusting that they send out Unsolicited mail and then expect me to go all the way to the post office with the box to return the dam thing to them.
Am now awaiting there reply, will let you know how I get on.
By the way the email that I sent my complaint to was

I would have told them I was housebound and have no friends or family close by, so cannot return the item to them through the post, but they are more than willing to send a courier to pick the package up from me.
Why should you waste your time/petrol/shoe leather to give them something back you never asked for in the first place?
'If you want it, come and get it' is what I'd say to themTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Surprise Surprise I have received an email too....just phoned them on 020 7760 6500 and got put through to Customer Services and spoke to a Lady called Helena.
I told her the situation with the unsolicited email and told her that I did not wish to be a part of their Book Club and if they send anything out they can come and get it (if I have to accept delivery)
She said that it was obviously someone playing a joke on me (Yeah right  ) and if I wanted to contact the police I could do so and they'd help with the Investigation.....so I told her it wasn't the first time this has happened and that packages get sent out to unsuspecting people all the time, then she replied that books do not get sent out unless asked for.
So my 'Membership' has been cancelled - but I'm awaiting the books soon.0
