Hi Ladies,
Having been glued to the TTC thread for weeks,I can't help but notice (not trying to sound bitter) that all the BFP have come from people who have only been TTC for a few months (A truly genuine, big congratulations to you all)
Obviously there are completely differing issues for those of us who,in our heart of hearts, rather than the excitement that we may get our BFP,we've resigned ourselves to the fact that its more than likely going to be another BFN for us this month !!! (OMG,can you remember the days when BDing was fun ?)
Hope that I'm not 'treading on the toes' of the OP on the TTC thread, but I thought perhaps the "old timers" could have their own thread,as most of us have now got to the stage of tests and fertility treatment etc
What do you think ?

I think that's probably not a bad idea - I generally only go onto that thread to comment on fertility tests and procedures for those who are at that stage.
I am lucky that I now have a DS - and having a baby WILL happen for most of us - even if it doesn't feel like it.The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -
I think you have a splendid idea here nottslass
I occasionally post on the original TTC thread and had noticed that it would be a good idea to have another thread started for old timers as you put it
Good luck and babydust to you all x0 -

Great, due to OH sperm count (and prob my age.lol) we've been referred to a fertility clinic with a view to having ICSI (self funded.gulp !) and it would be great to have the knowledge of others who have been or are going through the same thing.
Like you I'm lucky,I have DS1 who's 22 and DS2 who is 6, but as you probably understand it doesn't make it any easier when you keep getting a BFN !!! Hopefully we'll be getting a few BFP on this thread before long too.0 -

There is a good list here:
http://pregnancyandbaby.com/pregnancy/baby/TTC-ABCs--Preconception-acronyms-1135.htm
BFP - Big Fat Positive
BFN - Big Fat Negative
BD - Baby Dance (sex!)
I've been TTC on and off for 3 years, and pretty much given up now. Missed my last period, got hopes up, but was negative. Still no period two months later, very odd!
Only test I had was to check I was ovulating, about 18 months ago. Next step is OH tests, but he isn't keen.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
feelinggood - how many pregnancy tests have you done? Perhaps it is time to do some more if no period for 3 months. HAd a BFP when I didn't want one and quite a few BFN's when I didn't want, too! OHHH 2,001 I am now fantastically fervent!!0

I did one when I was a couple of days late, and one when I was almost about 3 weeks late. I don't have any other symptoms, and to be honest, its easier to deal with no result than another BFN(despite it being the worst possible time for a BFP, it'd still make me so happy)

Seriously if you haven't had a period for 3 months go to the Dr. You never know it might be good news - not everyone has any symptoms. How many people do you know who have never realised they are pregnant. I can think of 2 of the top of my head.0

I'd go to the doctors to. I know someone who was still having periods and hardly even had a bump so much so that she thought she'd just put it down to putting on a bit of weight.O0
