I'm now deciding between paying around £650pp for hotel and flight or £410 (indirect from Glasgow) for flight only and book hotel seperately and getting a nationwide card........
Is the £200 you originally asked about for 7 nights hotel per person? If so, how many people will be going? I assumed you meant £200 for the room for 7 nights...if you mean £200 per person, you could probably work with that.
As rates vary dramatically week to week depending on what is going on, probably worth you checking the promotions websites posted previously and checking on various hotels as one week in September may be much more expensive than another week in September.
Or if you want to post your dates I'm sure plenty of us will have a look the various places we know to look...but only knowing a month is too little to really say for certain.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

here is a photo. have eaten at the OUTBACK next door but thats my only brush with it. ( p.s the Chops and Mash are good for the money in OUTBACK but otherwise it,s nothing special)Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
Have never stayed in the Casino Royale but probably spent more time in the casino there than in any other place on the strip.
As for getting a good priced room, bargains come up early/late/never you just never know. At short notice we got a week in the MGM for £350 while even the hovels were twice that. September is a long time away and I wouldn't worry too much about there being few bargains at the moment.0 -

Thanks. Anything less than £500 for both of us for the week makes it cheaper to book flight and hotel seperately, however this leaves me with the problem of sorting a nationwide or post office card. Happy to be in 2 different hotels over the week.
We have can travel anytime from 1st Sept to 15th Sept (both back to work on the 24th). Earlier is better but I know about Labour day so the first few days are probably out. We also have flexibility to change our leave if needed too.Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -

I guess its time for my twopenneth worth.
£500 or $1000 should be enough for a week on the strip. I like to think I can get a strip hotel for $60 to $80 sun/thur and double that on a weekend so if you take an average of $80 a night times 9, that is $720 for a week. Last time I was there I went to the Orleans for the weekend for $99 a night to avoid the strip prices.
Why is it a problem getting a nationwide or post office card? If you cant get either and use any other card for say two hotels, You would still get a good rate of exchange but would have to pay a couple of pounds twice for the privrledge. So it wouldnt cost you much more.0 -

Tango....This is your first time isnt it?
If it was my first time I wouldnt want to stay in the Garden rooms at the trop and i wouldnt want to stay at casino Royale.
If I was going to the trop I would want a strip view tower room.
I cant comment on rooms at the CR but the casino is small smelly and dark. IMO opinion if you stayed in either of those you would be disappointed as opposed to staying in a bigger hotel for the Vegas experiance.0 -

Post Office Card is a absoulte doddle to sort out . do the entire application online in one go , my "ready to activate card" arrived through the letterbox within 5 days when i did.
i have just recieved this months bill with my MIRAGE booking / depsoit on mine. the exchange rate is clearly quoted i got $1.9993 to the £ and no hidden fee or charge. refunding on to it from the Excalibur a few months ago was problem free as well.

My budget will stretch to a tower room at the Tropicana.
I'm holding on for a while to see if I can get the Luxor for a similar price for our first week
I'm not going to be gambling OH will have the odd flutter but we wont be spending hardly any time in the casinos so whether one has got a better casino than the other won't bother us in the least.
If all else fails and we can't get a decent rate for our second week up towards the North end then we'll stay off strip at the Orleans or the Gold Coast:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0 -

I agree with photome...you asked about £200 for a week on the strip which is going to be hard...£500 for a week on the strip is definately doable even with the current offers that are out (assuming that there's nothing major going on over your dates).Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Hi All
Been back a few days now and recovered!!!!!
Reading some of the new posts on here i thought i would give my opinion (sorry trets no deals to post up).
Planet Hollywood was excellent!!
Room was fantastic though did get free upgrade to a resort room.If you can get a deal to stay here , my rate was 59bucks a night, then do it.
Casino is lovely , heart bar at night is cool (with lovely podium dancers as well) and though we only tried it twice the spice buffet was really good.Voted best in vegas 2007.Location is the best, strip central.Only real drawback was not enough variation in dining in the PH.Though the desert passage next door has a few places.
Venetian was again amazing though did find the bell boys etc snotty , seemed to expect like a 50bucks tip. We`re not all milloinaires who stay there y`know.
Stratosphere - i like it.Yes it is too far up the strip but you can get the bus (deuce) for 5bucks all day pass right outside the strat which takes you all the way from freemont st down to the las vegas outlets way south of the strip.... but the casino and everything feels newish and some good entertainment to be had there.Though the rooms i found to be very noisy ie thin walls. We woke up one morning to a blazin row next door and through the course of the row it turned out it was there wedding day!!!
The pool and fitness centre was better than the pool at the PH.
Personally one week is enough in Vegas for me, after that unless you just want to gamble all the time it all blends into one big blur. (and i am a poker player)
I have some amazing photos to match yours trets and photome but cant get them on the damn PC...
thanks all you guys for hunting down the deals and helping people , like me , to have a top time for a good price.
Cheers :T :T0
